First Alert Talking Combination Alarm Review

I would love to Thank the great people over at First Alert & Alison for being so gracious enough to let me review this fine product of theirs, the SC07CN Talking Combination Alarm. First Alert has been around for many years with top of the line products such as smoke detectors, C02 detectors, a variety of safes, fire extinguishers, two story escape ladders, a variety of cameras to protect your house & business. First Alert also carries Test Kits for Radon, Mold and Lead which is a great thing to have for your home. First Alert products can be purchased online, or at your local hardware store, Target, Walmart, Sears, Amazon and many more.

First Alert sent me the SC07CN Talking Combination Alarm, and I couldn't have loved it anymore. I loved the fact that it talked, and it was loud enough for everyone in my house to hear it. I would rather have a loud noise, than my house burn down. The previous smoke detector I had drove me nuts. It was placed right next to the shower, and every time we opened the door, well, it went off and wouldn't stop.

With this new Alarm , it hasn't happened yet. I do like the fact that you can program it for what room you would like it in, and I chose my kitchen. It's very simple, all you have to do is hold down the button and select. Last year before Christmas, I got a knock on the door around 6:00 a.m. in the morning from the fire dept telling me that I had to evacuate my home immediately because of high C02 levels. I got myself, my kid and my two pets as quick as I could and got out. It was about 20 degrees out that morning, but I would rather be shivering in the cold than die from C02 poisoning. My alarm on the detector that I had at that time never went off alerting me of this danger at all. When I thought back on it, me and my child hadn't been feeling well for a few days with headaches and upset stomach, and I'm sure it was from this.

250 people died last year from C02 poisoning, due to not having a detector in their home. You need to discuss the symptoms with your family to make them aware. Some of the symptoms are fatigue, head aches, nausea & being light headed ,all pretty much similar to the flu. C02 poisoning if left unattended can lead to serious neurological disorders, memory loss, and forms of brain damage. There is no way to tell you have C02 in your home without a detector, as it is tasteless, colorless, and odorless, and most of the deaths we hear about this happen at night during sleep.

First Alert carries these wonderful fire extinguishers also. It's good to keep one handy at all times. According to the New England Journal Of Medicine 3,000 people die each year due to fires in their home, and 17,000 end up with serious injuries. According to The National Fire Protection Association, more than have of those deaths could have been prevented by having a smoke detector in your home. I like the fact that you can have one detector with dual purposes such as the SC07CN. Alarms should be placed in each bedroom, one on each level in your house, and don't put them right next to the stove, and keep them at least 10 feet away from the shower & laundry areas.

The features that come with the First Alert SC07CN Taking Combination Alarm are:

Talking Alarm

Dual Smoke & C02 Sensing

Remote Control Mute

Photoelectric Smoke Sensing

Sweeping Horn Tone( It is loud)

Eco Friendly

Mute Button

Easy Access Door

Low Battery Signal Mute

Electrochemical C0 Sensor

End of Life Signal

5 Year Limited Warranty

National Preparedness month is in September, which is right around the corner. I would like to recommend to everyone to be prepared, and by that I mean having a disaster kit set and ready for use, with basic survival items in it. If you don't have an smoke &C02 detector in your house, you should get one. Make sure all of your valuables are stored in a safe place such as a safe or a locked deposit box, and make sure you have proper security doors in place. Lastly, keep all your outdoor items secured with rope, to keep them from flying away. If you follow all of these steps, you have a much better chance at survival no matter what hazard comes your way.

This alarm was provided to me for my review from First Alert. I was not paid for my review. These are my opinions, and mine only. Thanks to First Alert & Alison for giving me this wonderful opportunity to review a great product.

Pamper Your Feet Giveaway

It's that time of year when we like to have our hands & feet looking good, so I decided to give you a treat, something that we all love to do, and that is take good care of our nails, so when we go shopping our nails look beautiful. I just had to throw that in!

NYC products are favorites of mine. They have been around along time, and I have been using them for just as long. NYC carries not only nail care products, but also, lip stick, lip gloss, eye liner, eye shadow, lip balm, blush, mascara and much more. NYC products run anywhere from $.99 up to $6.00 or so. I also use their lip glosses and lipstick all the time. NYC products can be purchased at your local CVS , Walmart, Rite Aid, Target, Stop & Shop and many more locations. There are many colors to choose from. It won't be easy just picking one.

I have included a Conditioning Foot Soak from Avon, a flower pumice brush, so you can get your feet feeling nice and smooth, and of course a nail file from Avon. It has Xmas decals on it, so you can take them off and use them. I have been using this foot soak for years now, and it does wonders. I fill up a bucket with nice warm water, then add the soak to the water and sit and relax. I normally scrub my feet while they are wet and warm, as the dead skin comes off nice and easy.

This giveaway includes 1 of each of the following:

Coach Poppy Project

I was reading a fellow bloggers post today about this Coach Poppy Project, and I thought how neat, and since I absolutely love Coach Products, why not give it a try. All you have to do is sign up at Coach Poppy Project, register, give them your name, your blogs url and make up a hash tag # with your name on it and every time you see poppy on a blog click on it and tweet with both hash tags to make it grow. Sounds interesting doesn't it? It took me awhile to figure it out, and I think I finally got it. One of my fellow bloggers got lucky today when she clicked on the poppy bag and she was awarded $100.00, you got it, I said $100.00. Now who wouldn't want to win that?

All you have to do is when you see one of these purses on the left, just click on them and you could be awarded a nice prize. The more tweeting you do:
Grow, Poppy! Grow! #CoachPoppy www.coach.com/poppyproject and your own #hashtag, the better your chances are. So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Coach Poppy Project and sign up. Good luck to all who participate.

Fun Time At Hermans Hermits Show

What a great time I had at the Hermans Hermits Show the other night. My family traveled for hours to see Peter Noone, and of course me. We were very fortunate enough to get a good seat for the show. The standing in line for hours payed off. I was able to get a good shot of Peter Noone & Kevin Hearn one of the Bare Naked Ladies. I was able to talk to him (Kevin Hearn) and of course got a nice hand shake too. What a great guy !! The night was so much fun. If you haven't had the chance to see Peter Noone (Hermans Hermits), you should really see him as he is a wonderful performer , and one heck of a funny guy. He dances all over the stage like crazy! Good time & great fun!!! Unfortunately I wasn't able to see the Bare Naked Ladies perform, but I heard they put on one hell of a show!!
